A note on booking. We recommend booking The Farm Caff and Lakeside Sauna. The Courtyard Bar, Farmtivities and Wild Swimming do not require booking.

Public Transport:
Castle Cary train station is only 5 mins by car or a 20-min walk.
A public footpath runs through our land so you can walk or cycle through the farm to the Farm Caff.

We have free onsite parking. Please only use our car park and be respectful of our neighbours when arriving and leaving Higher Farm.

We recommend booking a table at our restaurant as we’re a small restaurant and can be fully booked on weekends.

No need to book ahead. Our swimming lake, rowing boat and farmtivities are open to all our customers during our opening times. Wild swimming and rowing is at your own risk.

We will be starting our guided farm tours later this summer. Keep an eye out on our social media for more info.
Until then, you’ll find an easy to follow map on the table and the farm is signposted so you can take a self-guided farm tour.

Yes! We have ‘farmtivities’ for the little ones, lots to explore and can do half portions in the restaurant.
We are a working farm with animals, vehicles and machinery. Children must be supervised at all times and are not allowed to climb on our tractors. -
Yes, we welcome dogs at the farm and in the restaurant.
Please ensure you clean up after them and keep them on a lead, we have geese, ducks, pigs, horses, goats and other animals.

Yes, we have two en-suite Nature Cabins. Please book them in advance here.
We do not allow campervans or camping overnight. -
